When Alison and Andrew came to me dreaming of a month in Australia to celebrate Andrew’s 60th birthday, I knew this was going to be a very special trip to put together. A direct flight from Heathrow to Perth, the legendary Indian Pacific train journey across the continent, Kangaroo Island, the Great Ocean Road and Melbourne - all connected seamlessly. Alison kindly agreed to share their experience…
Thank you, Amanda, for creating such an amazing experience for us in Australia. You made everything feel so easy and enjoyable - from the very first stages of planning right through to the final day. What we appreciated most was your expertise: guiding us in the right direction, helping us make the best decisions and always making us feel completely confident in our choices.

We began with the direct 17-hour flight from Heathrow to Perth. I'll admit we were slightly nervous beforehand, but it turned out to be fabulous and the perfect start to our month away.
It's genuinely difficult to single out highlights because every aspect of the trip was incredible - but here are a few moments that really stood out...
Western Australia
While in Western Australia, our stay in Margaret River was made extra special by a visit to Vasse Felix Winery. Amanda arranged a five-hour tour with lunch and wine tasting - some of the best wine we have ever experienced. Even though the weather wasn't entirely on our side, it felt truly special. One of those experiences we'll talk about for years.
The Indian Pacific

At the very top of my husband's wish list was the Indian Pacific - the legendary train journey from Perth across Australia to Sydney, covering over 4,000 kilometres in four days and three nights. It absolutely lived up to expectations.
The food and wine were exceptional and we loved meeting so many interesting people on board.
There are four off-train excursions included along the way - Kalgoorlie's gold rush history, a stargazing night in the ghost town of Cook, a wine dinner at Seppeltsfield Winery in the Barossa Valley, and the Blue Mountains on the final morning. For us, the Blue Mountains was the standout highlight of the whole journey.

Sydney, Adelaide & Kangaroo Island

After a few wonderful nights in Sydney, we flew to Adelaide, where Amanda had recommended an overnight trip to Kangaroo Island - a fantastic suggestion and an experience we are so glad we didn't miss.
The Great Ocean Road to Melbourne
From Adelaide, we travelled the iconic Great Ocean Road to Melbourne over four nights. Amanda's careful planning and pre-booked accommodation meant we could relax and enjoy the journey without feeling rushed, making the most of the spectacular scenery along the way.
In Melbourne we stayed with friends and took a trip to King Island- which I would highly recommend.
We then flew back to Perth to connect with our direct non-stop flight home to Heathrow, rounding off an amazing adventure.
Our holiday lasted just over a month and it is something we will never forget. Amanda's expertise, friendly approach, patience in answering all our questions and brilliant organisation made the entire experience perfect. It couldn't have gone any better.
